About Aftermath Kitchen & Bar

Let me introduce you to Aftermath Kitchen & Bar, a New American restaurant that feels like a neighborhood favorite the moment you walk in. Located at 1534 E Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014, United States, Aftermath Kitchen & Bar blends modern comfort with a relaxed, come-as-you-are energy that works for casual dinners, date nights, or spontaneous happy-hour plans. The menu leans into bold yet familiar flavors, pairing elevated comfort food with small plates that invite sharing and conversation. Drinks are a major part of the experience here, with a thoughtful lineup of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer that fits just as well with late-night bites as it does with an early evening unwind. If you’re the type who enjoys stretching out a meal, happy-hour food and drinks make it easy to settle in without watching the clock. Service options are flexible, which is always a win, whether you’re grabbing takeaway on a busy night, ordering delivery at home, or choosing to dine in and soak up the atmosphere. Outdoor seating adds another layer of appeal, especially when Phoenix evenings cool down and the vibe turns social. Coffee is also on the menu, which subtly shifts the space into a spot that works beyond dinner, making it feel approachable at different times of day. What really stands out about Aftermath Kitchen & Bar is how effortlessly it balances quality with comfort, offering a place where good food, well-made drinks, and an easygoing setting come together naturally, without trying too hard to impress. From the lighting to the playlist, the details feel intentional but never overdone, which makes the room feel welcoming rather than staged. It’s the kind of place where first-time visitors quickly turn into regulars, partly because the staff keeps things friendly and unpretentious, and partly because the food and drinks stay consistent visit after visit. Whether you stop by for small plates, a crafted cocktail, or a relaxed dine-in meal with friends, the overall experience stays smooth, approachable, and genuinely enjoyable.

"It's bigger on the inside!" That was our first thought when we finally stopped in. We drove past this spot every morning, intrigued by a banner announcing some kind of award, but admittedly skeptical about how good a seemingly small location could be. What we discovered was far from a "hole in the wall." This is a surprisingly charming, upscale restaurant that's easy to miss if you're just driving by. It's well worth seeking out for the mouth-watering pasta and perfectly cooked steak. While the brussel sprouts were just okay (we won't hold that against them!), the overall experience was fantastic. And yes, they absolutely have a full bar with fantastic drinks! This spot is perfect for dates, small groups, or drinks with friends. Highly recommend!

Our recent visit to Aftermath in Phoenix proved to be an exceptionally positive dining experience, exceeding our expectations. This establishment was brought to our attention via a popular social media platform, inspiring a visit that resulted in considerable satisfaction with both the culinary offerings and the service provided. We were particularly drawn to try their signature burger, a recommendation that came highly publicized. Upon sampling it, we can confirm that its reputation is well-deserved; the burger was expertly prepared and unequivocally delicious. Complementing the main course, the accompanying fries were also of excellent quality, crisp and flavorful, striking a perfect balance. The attentiveness and professionalism of our server, whose name we unfortunately did not record, significantly enhanced the overall enjoyment of our meal. Their courteous demeanor and efficient service were noteworthy, contributing to a seamless and pleasant dining occasion. Based on this outstanding experience, we wholeheartedly recommend Aftermath for its superior food quality and exceptional service standards. We are confident that other patrons will find the establishment as gratifying as we did and anticipate a return visit in the near future to explore more of their menu. The establishment has certainly set a high benchmark for dining in Phoenix.

UPDATE: Adam, the General Manager, just demonstrated he genuinely cares that his customers have a great experience at the Aftermath by refunding the entire $22 charge for the double cheeseburger (see original complaint below). He has also indicated he spoke with his staff to explain the importance of advising Happy Hour customers when their choices are not part of the Happy Hour values. To show my appreciation, I'm going to change my 1-Star Service rating to a 5-Star Service rating, & I will thank Adam personally on our next Happy Hour visit. This would have been an otherwise lovely Happy Hour with me & my other two friends, if not for the unpleasant surprise I got when I received my portion of the bill. In addition to one of my friend's Mac n Cheese order, she & I decided to split the $10 Happy Hour Cheeseburger. When ordering, our server asked if we wanted the double cheeseburger, or the single, so we opted for the double. I later asked the server to put the burger on my check, but was taken aback to see a $22 charge for the cheeseburger. I didn't expect the charge to remain at $10, but the $12 surcharge for the extra patty seemed excessive. When I asked our server about it, she matter-of-factly said that's the standard charge for a double cheeseburger. Since we were obviously ordering off the Happy Hour menu, I think our server should not have offered us the double cheeseburger option off the standard menu without also advising us of the $12 difference in price. We definitely would have been repeat customers, but not now, after feeling like we were intentionally misguided.

Got a to-go order for our first time trying this place. We got the Aftermath Burger, the Jalapeño bacon Burger, key lime bar, and the pretzel bread pudding. We definitely found our new burger spot . The creamy cheese on the Aftermath, and that BACON JAM on the Jalapeño bacon burger ugghhhh it was so savory and delicious. Desserts were also amazing! The bread pudding had a really great flavor and warm spice, and the key lime bar was perfectly tart and sweet. We can't wait to come here again and actually have a sit down meal. Side note, I don't know why other places can't seem to avoid soggy fries and buns in to-go orders, but these guys got it down! Fries were still crispy and delicious, and the burgers OMG they were just so incredible! We've lived a block away for 5 years and can't believe we waited so long to try this place. 100000/10 will return. Special shout out to Adam for the above and beyond service on the desserts.

You have to try this place, the service was great, and very good suggestions! The pasta and Mac n cheese are a must! We also tried the market oysters and they were very tasty as well. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

Absolutely the best cheeseburger I’ve had ever, hands down. It’s one of those places where I’m already planning a follow up dinner. The atmosphere was moody, nice and quiet. The service is great, they weren’t too busy so we got a lot of attention and were able toget to know our server pretty well. Cocktails were delicious and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Came in to try the “best burger in Phoenix” and I enjoyed every bite! The tater tots were also great (I’d def order again). We also ordered a few cocktails which were great. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was very welcoming. Thank you for a good time and great food, we will be back.
